The season has certainly arrived with some of its treats and delights!
Wishing you and you family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year that brings you much happiness, good health and some wealth!!
The Summer highlight was attending our eldest granddaughter’s wedding in Hamilton, Montana! The ceremony was held on the side of a mountain and all the celebrations took place at the Airbnb Downtown Daly Mansion where we all stayed – 31 of us!
Locally, Pending Sales have declined from their peak in April, reflecting a reluctance of Buyers to commit to a home purchase. Some of the reasons were seasonal – such as vacation focus, then getting “the children ready for school”, overall concern about the high mortgage interest rates (relative to 3 years ago), but which are historically pretty close to the norm, and then of course “the elections” and now the other distraction “the holidays”!
Prices continue to increase but at a way lower percentage than a year or two ago, helped by a continuing low inventory.
So, is it a good time to buy? Frankly, circumstances will dictate that. With heightened apprehension about possible self induced inflation, Fed interest rate reductions appear to be slowing, leaving mortgage interest rates staying as they are, or maybe even, slightly rising for 2025. Home prices are also predicted to increase more modestly due to anticipated low levels of available inventory.
